Double 8 is easy to transfer without splitting on a 16mm gate. With a reposition to get the framing right it will only give you every other frame (scanning for 16mm size, and 8mm tight framing) So you may want to do 2 passes (get the framing just right for both the North and South frames, needs a still store to match or you'll see the changes on each frame if you choose to interlace (may not be the right word, but means to put all the frames back in the right order). On many occasions due to the format my clients and I have chosen to leave it with no re-interlace-- cheaper than visiting a room capable of putting the stuff together (uses a Hal the last time) the single pass gives it a strobe effect--cool for the right project, anyway. Good Luck, Anon!

Does anyone know whether it is possible to t/c double super8 film UNCUT. That is, 16mm wide (with super8 perfs obviously). I am shooting DS8 on a Canon scoopic, but feel that transferring the film without slitting into two 8mm strips could help stability.
Any info or comments would be useful at this stage.

I told you so, no-one ever listens. But the full story of money mismanagement, lies and deceit will soon be published on a web site. I will be publishing the rise and fall of a small ambitious empire that has been in the writting for a few months now. It will make for some interesting reading - if you want your company to survive, you will be very interested.
It was about greed... It was about mismanagement... It was about placing family members in places which didn't suit them... It is about under-qualified accoutants (un-qualified!) and head of departments... Kooks becoming administation staff... but most importantly, it is about the hurt and devastation it caused to those people who are owed thousands of pounds.
Keep an eye out for the publication of ITK, the company that was.

Can anyone tell me if there is a Wetgate system available for the Spirit telecine?

It would seem as if everyone is going through a bit of a rough time for the past few months.
Let us hope that things start turning around soon, or else....
It is guess work as to who goes under first..

LIBERTY LIVEWIRE INC (US:LWIRA)
Two years ago Liberty Livewire went on a rampant shopping spree around the world buying up lots of small and medium size facilities companies. They bought quite a few here in London. Quite why they were doing this was a bit of a mystery. I fear they have over extended themselves and the aquisitions are not working out well financially. Have a look at the share price waveform on www.bigcharts.com: put in the code LWIRA for Liberty Livewire. In just over two months the share price has halved (writing June 2002) and the current level is just 4% of the peak white level of around 75 two year ago. Oh dear, what will happen next?

Has anyone got any information with what has happened to ITK?
There are many rumours around and I would like to know.
