Welcome!
The Telecine Internet Group is a community of professionals, students,
cosmopolites and hangers-on interested in the telecine process.
This website serves as a collection point and reference
for telecine materials available on the internet; several years of
archived TIG discussion are available. If you'd like to stay
current on telecine matters, I strongly suggest a subscription to the TIG
mailinglist. If you're only tangentially interested, you may prefer
to read the archives from time to time.
As of September, 2002, we have about 1200 subscribers to the
TIG mailinglist in over 50 countries. The group grew from a couple
of colorists in 1994...
There are probably many more readers of the group than subscribers,
as the messages enjoy a wide distribution, through forwarded email and printouts.
This site uses Cascading Style Sheets. Do yourself a favor, download a W3C CSS1
compliant browser.
such as Netscape Navigator

I'm working on a smoother file upload feature but for now
TIG subscribers can use the following URL to send me photos:
http://www.alegria.com/tig3/psupload.html
photos can be uploaded in clumps of 3 at a time but cannot
exceed 100k each in size.
I'll get a daily automated thumbnail indexing thing happening
at some point. [note as of May 6 2002 The TIG TWiki Topicsite
provides file attachment capability.]

NAB is just around the bend.. and we're going to have a TIG NAB Focus
Sheet for attendees who want to know what to see, what's new in
telecine. In the meantime don't forget to subscribe to the group at
http://tig.alegria.com so you can
hear the latest news of color-correction and telecine. Some
interesting talk about the ideal interface, take a look at the recent archives. (the
old archives have
some good stuff too.)

there's a guestbook at
http://www.alegria.com/tig3/guestbook.html
and a bragbook at
http://www.alegria.com/tig3/bragbook.html.
The bragbook can be used to boast about your recent accomplishments,
or to praise a colleague. We can consider packaging these comments
in digest form and sending it via email to everyone..
also, there's an "anonymous" book where you can post whatever you
want anonymously.
http://www.alegria.com/tig3/anonymous.html
..this is to serve as a place for people who may be otherwise
reluctant to reveal to the TIG at large their opinions or level
of knowledge.
