it looks like hotmail has switched away from unix into an OS and
MTA that doesn't offer any clear diagnostics.  Too bad for us
system administrators who need to know details.

if any of the following hotmail recipients would like to read the
original message, it is in the archives, and I would also
complain to the authorities at hotmail that "Status 5.0.0" 
to most of the world is meaningless and would take a trivial
effort to translate outbound.
