re:maxivision

If I owned a lab or sold/manufactured film stocks I'd be all for Maxivision!!!! A format where you need/use 1.5 (3/4's current frame height times 2) times as much stock is an interesting proposition. It does perhaps sound like a neat special exhibition type format like IMAX is now. I can't imagine any distributors being exited about prints being longer and heavier than they are now. Most of them seem awfully excited about e-cinema where there are no more prints to make, wear out, and ship around the world. And us colorist, how 'bout 1.5 - 2 times the number of roll changes; or as my assistant commented, "I've got to rewind MORE film???" 2 perf 35mm is S16!!!!
