I think the thing Valenti is concerned with (aside from how to best comb
his hair to make himself look taller) is the person who will already have
invested in a playback machine and downconverter box, and will hire someone
to steal the playback tapes, and will have 50,000 pirated copies of really
excellent quality on the street by the weekend. 

Stealing and handling playback tapes for excellent pirating results seems
like a much simpler process than doing so with a film print, where you have
to involve telecine etc.
