Yes, I have had a failed EQ-45 board in a DigiBeta.  Since it was out of
warranty by at least 6 months, I thought I was bracing myself for sticker
shock.  I called Sony FRB, and told them of the failed board.  With out
hesitation, the attendant said that Sony would replace the board free of
charge due to the "failures they were having with them".  I was elated.  Seems
to me that Sony was avoiding "bad press".
