A rather expensive but useful tool for the monitoring path in a digital
environment is the Tek WFM601A model that has the "Arrowhead" display of
luma & chroma plotted against a composite envelope.  The display is a
direct reading of your digital signal as it would translate when encoded to
NTSC, in terms of legal gamut.

As Dave Corbitt mentioned,  the H-P QA100, which I think corrects with no
operator involvement or the Videotek Digital proc amp which does have
handles on luma gain, chroma gain, lift, and is very friendly and simple to
use.
