Re: Overnight Colourists

<< I am working on a project that requires me to work 1am to 9am. I sleep 4
hours in the morning and 4 hours before work. What do other overnight
 colourists do for sleep? >>

When working overnight, after I've finished my shift I force myself to stay
awake until 4 to 6pm that afternoon at which I drink a warm glass of milk,
take 3mg of melatonin (not all of the time), insert the ear plugs and close
the shades. I find getting good sleep (6 1/2 to 7 1/2 hrs) before the work
shift reduces the percentage of errors during an unnatural work schedule
(database accuracy is very important).

Eat healthy. Stay away from raw sugars. They are a depressant (that means
drinking your coffee black).

Also, a good attitude is very important. Don't cosider your situation to be
a burden. Be thankful for the opportunity and truely try to maintain a good
outlook as your career opportunities unfold and you are able to advance to
your desired potential.
