Some of the confusion surrounding some of the Options products stems simply
from the fact that things are in ongoing development. For example,
initially, Digital Deflection required a Digi 4 for the 18MHZ clock. Now,
Quattroscan has an optional Clock Buffer Board which will provide DD with
that clock signal without the need for Digi 4. Also, for now, you still
need a Digi for full Meta-Speed range. As I noted in an earlier post, the
new feature for continuously variable speed with Quattroscan is waiting on
software completion. Once this feature is implemented, you won't even
need a Digiscan in the machine for DD or QS. (For Clearview, however,
you will always need Digi 4. But Quattroscan essentially addresses the
same issues as Clearview with its 10-bit/4:4:4 full-bandwidth internal
processing.)
